Manual Powder Coating

Using Wagner Manual Powder Coating equipment, a range of specialty effects can easily be achieved using powder application that would be impossible to achieve with other coating applications and processes.

Normally the powders cure at 200°C (390°F) for 10 minutes. The curing times can vary according to the manufacturer’s specifications. The application of energy to the product to be cured can be accomplished by convection cure ovens, infrared cure ovens, or by laser curing process. Powder coatings contain no solvents and release little or no amount of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) into the atmosphere. Powder coatings can produce a much thicker coating than conventional liquid coatings without running or sagging.

Once a product is powder coated the item is then heated, and the powder melts into a uniform film, and is then cooled to form a hard coating. The curing process requires a certain temperature for a certain length of time to reach full cure. Curing time is significantly faster with powder coating as compared to liquid coating.
